Germantown HELP's mission is to help
our neighbors in need
through our programs,
referrals to other resources,
and the relationships we have in our community.
Germantown HELP serves our community with the following programs:
Emergency Food Program: Delivers emergency food up to ten times a year. In 2009, we provided 1,759 deliveries of emergency food to 642 households.
Partners Program: New in 2009, we provide bags of nonperishable food to Partners for distribution to their clients. Last year, we provided 67 bags of nonperishable food to our Partners.
Prescription Assistance Program: Provides up to $150 per client per year to help pay for doctor-prescribed medication. In 2009, we helped 136 clients with 269 prescriptions
The Holiday Giving Project: We are the Zip Code Coordinator for the Montgomery County Holiday Giving Project in Germantown. We match referred households with sponsors or collect toys and gift cards to sponsor them directly. In 2009, there were 1,032 referrals into the Holiday Giving Project!
The Germantown Community Coalition: An informal gathering of area congregations, nonprofits, caseworkers and anyone interested in helping those in need in Germantown. We generally meet once or twice a year.
We collaborate with area churches, civic groups and neighbors on a variety of projects. If you have an idea, please let us know! We do a lot working together!
